Chief Bromden (age unspecified) - A physically imposing, preferably long-haired individual to play mute for the most of the "action" of the play, yet break for several soliloquies to the audience throughout the show.
Dale Harding (30s-late 40s) - Effeminate man who is probably the most "sane" of the patients in the mental ward.
Billy Bibbit (20s - VERY EARLY 30s) - Wiry, Smallish, man-child who is easily bullied. Must be able to play a stammer/stutter.
Scanlon (30s-50s) - Spends a great deal of time to himself, silent, but when he speaks, he speaks in a gruff, VERY un-PC fashion.
Cheswick (40s - 60s) - Perhaps a little extra weight. Like Scanlon, more interested in the profane than the sacred.
Martini (30s - 50s) - Swarthy, vacant. Martini sees people who aren't there.
Ruckly (30s - 50s) - Nearly comatose patient. Speaks very infrequently (Fake 'em all - but he doesn't say "fake"), but is on stage in a crucifix pose a lot, Need physical strength for this.
Randall P. McMurphy (late 30s) - Our protagonist. Hustler possibly using the institution to avoid jail time. Or maybe not.
Aides (Warren, Williams and Turkle) 20s - 30s) - Will not speak much, but will have a LOT of stage time as the director intends to have them constantly milling around the ward.
Dr. Spivey (50s-60s) - Appears briefly, but carries a lot of weight when we see him. Maybe tall, thinnish.
Nurse Ratched (40s) - Incredibly "disciplined" head of the ward. Must have an air of sexual desirability about her, yet it needs to be repressed.
Nurse Flinn (20s) - Put upon assistant to Nurse Ratchet.
Candy Starr (20s-30s) - Party girl friend of McMurphy who comes to visit the ward one fateful night.
Sandra (30s -40s) Little less classy friend of Candy Starr's.
